Evangelism must be based on sound doctrine from the Word of God. We believe that Christ and His Apostles all taught the system of truth which we today call the Five Points of Calvinism (or the Doctrines of Grace, or Tulip Calvinism, or Calvin Tulip).

It is an abuse of Baptist History to say that ALL Calvinists are against evangelism and missions. John Bunyan, author of Pilgrim's Progress, William Carey, the father of modern missions and Charles H. Spurgeon, the prince of preachers were all Particular Baptists (they all held to a Particular Redemption or Limited Atonement).

Carey and Spurgeon both held to London Baptist Confession of 1689 (thoroughly Calvinistic). The ancient Novatians and Waldenses held to both Predestination and Believer's Baptism. They were often persecuted because of their successful evangelism. They lived and died for Christ long before the Protestant Reformation.

They are sometimes easier to remember by their acronym: T-U-L-I-P (T = Total Depravity, U = Unconditional Election, L = Limited Atonement, I = Irresistible Grace, P = Perseverance of the Saints).
