Bible Nutrition
(Christian Nutrition)
For ye are bought with a price:
therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 1
Cor. 6:20
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory
of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
Bible nutrition (also known as Christian
nutrition) is clearly taught in the Holy Bible. Bible nutrition begins
with God's instruction to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In the
ancient Hebrew Scriptures, we read:
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb
bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree,
in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be
for meat.
Genesis 1:29
The word translated "meat" in the King James Bible
can also mean "food." God had given our first parents every herb
(vegetable) and every fruit of a tree for food, along with their seed.
There is now an abundance of evidence that
apricot seeds
help prevent cancer, and can even eliminate it in its early stages.

by G. Edward Griffin.

Bible Nutrition in Leviticus 11
Other ancient peoples, also descended from Noah,
(though
not
Christian in their ancient cultures) knew much of the value of herbal
remedies. The ancient Chinese have made good use of many of the
herbs God has given us. You may want

Bible nutrition is also found in Leviticus,
chapter 11, where God makes a distinction between clean and unclean
meats. Christians are no longer under this Old Testament Law
(according to Mark 7:19, Acts, chapters 10-11, and Romans 14:14). Yet, it doesn't hurt to
voluntarily follow the dietary law set down by God in Leviticus 11.
Let's examine a few Bible nutrition verses:
And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and
be cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud, he is unclean to you.
Leviticus 11:7
And all that have not fins and scales in
the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any
living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto
you. Leviticus 11:10
Christian nutrition can benefit from
avoidance of pork and seafood (seafood
without
fins and scales) such as shrimp, lobster, crabs, etc. All were forbidden
to the Hebrews in Leviticus 11. All have been proven by modern science
to be high in
bad
types of cholesterol. Pork, with its inherent danger of
trichinosis, was forbidden.
Swine (pigs) eat any garbage they find. Seafood
without fins and scales are usually scavengers also. We should care not
only about what we eat,
but also care about what we eat--eats!!
These shall ye eat of all that are in the
waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and
in the rivers, them shall ye eat. Leviticus 11:9
Bible nutrition can be seen again in God's command
to eat fish with fins and scales. Fish with fins and scales are heart
healthy foods, low in fat, and high in calcium and protein. Cold water
fish, such as salmon, are also high in Omega-3 fatty acids, which are
not only good for the heart, but also good for the integrity of the
myelin sheath of the nerves. Tulip Gems highly recommends SeaBear Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil Gelcaps - a pure natural source of Omega-3 fatty acids.
Ancient Scandinavians, living in a cold, cloudy
climate, did not have adequate sunlight for the production of Vitamin D
during much of the year. But God graciously provided cod fish, rich in
both Vitamins A and D. Tulip Gems recommends pure, Norwegian Cod Liver
Oil, especially for those who live without adequate sunlight during the
winter months.
Bible Nutrition in the Healthy Food Pyramid
Many nutritional experts now recommend a healthy
food pyramid with a base of 3 to 4 servings daily of whole grains and
legumes. (Bible nutrition can again be seen here, as flax, barley, wheat
and rye are all mentioned as food for the ancient Hebrews.) The next
level in the healthy food pyramid is 6 servings daily of vegetables and
3 servings daily of fruit.
The third level in the healthy food pyramid is 2-3
servings per week of low-fat dairy products and 2-3 servings daily of
lean proteins, such as fish with fins and scales. The capstone of the
"food pyramid" is a daily consumption of Omega-3 EFAs, extra virgin
olive oil and nuts.
Nutritionists will tell you that certain foods are
nutritional super-stars. Sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, oranges,
strawberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, whole grain bread, oatmeal, fat
free (skim) milk and broccoli all fit in this category. As a general
rule, the closer a food is to the way God gave it, the better. In other
words, the less food processing, the better.
We believe that proper Health and Nutrition is
honoring to God, when done by a Christian. Any good program of Health
and Nutrition should include moderate exercise, sunlight, fresh air and
adequate rest. Stress, the number one cause of many illnesses, should be
reduced through faith and trust in our
Lord Jesus Christ. We recommend
that you read None of These Diseases
by S.I. McMillen.
Christian nutrition should consist of healthy
foods (including raw vegetables with the vitamins not cooked out of
them). Vitamin supplements are often necessary for many people, due to
loss of vitamins in modern food processing methods. We suggest you visit

Tulip Gems is a Calvinistic Baptist web site that honors Jesus Christ and provides a free Hyperinflation Survival Guide. We offer free Bible Articles on several subjects, including Bible Nutrition , Creation Science versus Evolution , Passover , The Great Commission and Tulip Calvinism .
Which Bible can we trust? Which Bible is the most accurate? Why KJV only? Read our Which Bible series of articles for answers from both Scripture and history (including a Rebuttal of James White's book, The King James Only Controversy).
Who is Jesus Christ? Why KJV only? Why Home School your children? Jesus Christ is Lord and the KJV Bible is the Preserved Word of God in English. Finally, Scripture gives us compelling reasons to Home School our children. One very important reason is to lead them to Our Passover Lamb. We recommend Christ-centered Home Schooling Curriculum.
